In the last week I just  got my front-row  seat at Couture Fashion Week 2018, but this time  through  the social media.

Check out my favos reviews spotlighting of  wedding dresses and gowns, the shoes, bags and coats that are on everyone’s hit list.

Romance Was Born

A little piece of Australia in Paris. Titled Step into Paradise, it’s inspired by Australian local fauna, flora and wildlife.

I’ve always felt very attracted to colourful pieces and mix of patterns and fabric, and the Sydney label colour combinations were bold, including mixes of pink, orange and red a journey of the imagination.

The  inspirational contemporary Australian create clothing that is more than just a beautiful garment – they create immersive cultural experiences that provoke an emotional response.  Artistic collaboration is an integral part of design for Romance Was Born, who choose to collaborate with artists or brands that share their creative passion and are dedicated to their own process.

There were intricate, geometric patchworks – of particular note on an oversize kimono fashioned with clips of vintage Australian postcard prints and positively blossoming with golden wattle, peaked dynasty-esque shoulders, a sequinned Parot jacket and bike shorts, fuzzy koalas with knitted eucalyptus ‘fringing’, hypercolour, floor length, appliqued capes and Romance’s signature more is more aesthetic.

Maria Aristidou

I could identify myself a lot with  Maria Aristidou’s  creation,  philosophy and inspiration. Her label is inspired for the love of finer things in life – not necessarily material goods – as well as the thoroughness for detail.

She strongly believes in creating designs that are wearable by today’s lifestyle women with touches of elegance and luxury that at the same time are comfortable and trendy.

Her mix of art and craftsmanship always brings glamour as well as simplicity in the designs and the fabrics developed.

For Maria Aristidou, Autumn/Winter 2018-19 couture collection, the inspiration was an overjoyed roller coaster. Her new luxurious knit couture geometric patterns with embroidering embellishments capture the romantic side of a woman and their power of the universe! Colours of limelight and darkness create a luxury feast of knit fabrics for sleek cut designs, that embrace the woman figure. The timeless classic with a modern twist are the signatures of the designer’s Autumn/Winter 2018-19 “Serendipity” Collection!

Galia Lahav

The fashion house “Galia Lahav” defines a new era of elite fashion for women through evening and bridal gowns. Galia Lahav is a world-renowned designer with over 30 years of establishment in couture dresses.

Israel-based design duo Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever represented by Totem Fashion brought in their  newest collection the feeling of freedom, playfulness and womanly allure with the theme And God Created Woman. With the French Riviera as a backdrop, this collection is rooted in vibrant tulles reminiscent of the seaside and the colors and curves of floral patterns.

They referenced Impressionist and Expressionist art in their layers of floating tulle in a watercolor palette of yellow, pink, blue and a vivid grass green and floral prints were added by way of Sever’s own drawings used on pale chiffon, motifs that were carried over as embroideries in other looks or blown up to create giant 3-D blooms, one covering the front of a mini tube dress.

Bold and fresh colors like acid and emerald green, ice pink and denim blue give the collection a more playful air, while natural colors like black and nude help ground the looks in maturity and womanhood. And God Created Woman is designed for the Juliette Hardy within us, a woman who is adamant in celebrating her youth, expressing her inner beauty and grasping her independence.

This collection can be broken down into moments in which the wearer is fresh and matured, rooted and free, vibrant and earthy. The plethora of silhouettes include jumpsuits, corset tops and t-shirt dresses. The bold floral patterns which contrast the softness of the sheer tulles use shapes and styles to mark the phases of a woman’s evolution.

Christian Dior

Just stunning, simple like that,  the collection of @MariaGraziaChiuri  inspired by the maison’s atelier and the fundamentals of haute couture, the palette was blush, navy, celery, rose, tea and all kind of nude. Realized on tulle, chiffon and organza, they give evening dresses a romantic air, sketching an evanescent and graceful feminine silhouette.  By different traditional pleating techniques and many entirely handmade.

The exclusive dressmaking mannequins that was reflected  in huge mirrors,  represents a sublime tribute to the atelier, a sanctum of the creation and savoir-faire of excellence specific to the House’s haute couture.

This season, Chiuri also developed  and goes back to the fundamentals,  with thick fabrics and silhouettes based on the batwing sleeve from the Bar Jacket – the centrepiece of Dior’s iconic 1947 “New Look” that revolutionised post-war fashion.

GiambattistaValli

My eyes always shine to Giambattista Vallis Kreationen collections, because he  often play with generous deployment of Tüll, making his clothes young and fresh and yet respectable.

Chanel

“High profile”

Karl Lagerfeld   brought the banks of the Seine into the Grand Palais to backdrop his fall ’19 couture show and a replica of the Académie Française.

Chanel showed a collection of tweed capes, embroidery, feathers, zippers, leather boots, opera-length gloves and some rockabilly ponytails hair styling.

The Schoolgirl skirts and ’80s-inspired sleeves. sheer, studded, and details of trims, cuffs and bodices within the ensembles composed a kind of  more metropolitan collection with various grey tones.

Fall 2018’s couture show saw 18-year-old  join Alek Wek bride join hands with not only Lagerfeld  but also with Chanel boy  Kroenig.
